The appearance of these objects of industrial architecture (and now famous sights) is associated with the beginning of the activity of the Grodno water pipeline, which began to be built in 1877 with the participation of the All-Russian Joint-Stock Water Society.

The western (pink) tower was erected in 1890, while the eastern (yellow, closer to the railway) tower was built no earlier than 1915. Both 22-meter towers are built in the eclectic style; urban rumor called them "Kasya" and "Basya". Where these names came from, no one remembers today, but there is a version that before the war, in one tower there was an accounting department for a water utility, where a certain Basya (Barbara) worked, and Kasia (Katazina) worked in the next house manager. At the end of the 20th century, these original buildings with richly decorated facades housed the creative workshops of the Grodno branch of the Union of Artists of Belarus.
