The device cover, handset and connection socket were made of black bakelite. The device's bell had two bowls made of steel sheet of different thickness, thanks to which it produced a sound of two different tones. The CB-49 model was initially manufactured at Zakłady Wytwarzanie Aparatów Telefonicznych T-4 in Łódź and at Fabryka Telefonów T-9 in Radom. In 1958, the Łódź plants changed the production profile and the production of this device was taken over entirely by the Radom factory. It was manufactured until 1963.
