    Good as an orientation on the Elbe Cycle Route and to see from afar the Emmauskirche is very close to the Elbe. The Elbe Cycle Path is located here from the Elbe, which draws a semicircle here before Kaditz.
    A predecessor of the Emmauskirche in Dresden-Kaditz was already mentioned in documents in 1273, making it one of the oldest churches in the Dresden area. It should have acted but only a small chapel. The founding is in connection with the emergence of the Briesnitzer church and the presence of the "Iron ford", an Elbe crossing, to see and lay on the way from Meissen to Briesnitz and on to Bautzen. Parts of this path are still known as the Bischofsweg in the Dresden Neustadt.
