The first part of the ascent [yellow marking] via the Fadensteig from the Edelweißhütte is particularly beautiful and requires sure-footedness. Due to its rocky formation, it is partially secured with wire ropes for holding. It offers a wonderful view down to the two huts (Edelweißhütte & Almreserlhaus) and over to Dürren Leiten.

The Fadensteig is located on the north side of the Schneeberg in southern Lower Austria. For experienced hikers with climbing experience, the ascent via the Fadensteig is a worthwhile route to the summit.
The starting point of the Fadensteig is the Edelweißhütte on the Fadensattel at 1235 m above sea level. A. In its most demanding section, the trail crosses the thread walls; here short passages are secured with a wire rope. A total of around 800 meters in altitude must be overcome to reach the Fischerhütte.
The Fadensteig is climbed both in summer and in winter, although the level of difficulty is higher in winter due to icing and snow fields.
