The Yin Changheng Mansion is a Chengdu City Protected Historical Site. It locates at No. 4 Wangjiaba Street, Qingyang District of Chengdu. Being built by the end of Qing Dynasty and at the beginning of the Republic of China, it’s a wood and brick structure of western and eastern mixed style with a total area of 372.2 square meters and a construction area of 601 square meters. The octangular tower with a strong time identity is the only building remained in several courtyards of Chengdu. Yin Changheng, born in Pengxian county of Sichuan, was a hero of 1911 Revolution. On 8th December 1911, a mutiny took place in Chengdu, the city was in chaos, Yin Changheng led the troops into the city at night and put down the rebellion, because of this, he was elected governor of the Sichuan military government by the Chengdu Military and Political Conferences. The original Sichuan governor Zhao Erfeng still stationed his troops in Chengdu and secretly intended a restoration after handing over the power; In the morning of 22nd December 1911, Yin Changheng led his officers and captured Zhao Erfeng, hold a trail in the imperial city, and beheaded him. In 1912, the military governments of the two places of Cheng and Yu emerged, the Sichuan government was established, Yin Changheng became the governor. In July of the same year, Yin led the army to the west, put down the Tibet rebellion within 3 months, and was appointed Jinglue Ambassador of the Sichuan frontier. However, later Yuan Shikai tricked him to Beijing, and sentenced him to 9 years in prison for the “embezzlement” crime; He came out of prison after Yuan Shikai died in 1916, and retired after that; He has written “The Collection of Zhi Garden”.
