Really beautiful harbor. Especially when you walk east you pass the fortress that protected the harbor and is generally part of the Riva fortifications. There is always something going on at the harbor. During the day there are passers-by and boaters, in the evening there are restaurant visitors and very early in the morning there are runners and athletes who want to escape the hustle and bustle.

There is a large parking lot at the harbor, so you can plan many tours from here.

Porto San Nicolò is a mooring for pleasure boats that represents the tourist port of Riva del Garda. With its 150 moorings for sailing boats and 50 dry berths for catamarans and dinghies, it is the largest port on the Trentino shore. The boats are the backdrop for a pleasant walk along the lake.

The port is guarded by the massive Fort San Nicolò, built between 1860 and 1861 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to monitor the lake and block any Italian landings. The fortification was part of the mighty defensive system that affected the whole of Mount Brione and the Garda Trentino coastline.
