In and around Madenşehir there are relics and ruins of 14 churches, 6 chapels, 3 remains of buildings, a mausoleum, an exedra, as well as numerous cisterns and a necropolis with sarcophagi. The largest ruined building (#1 in the official archaeological basilica plan), a 5th-century basilica, stands at the eastern entrance to the village. It was actively operated until the Arab raids. The narthex is in three parts and is accessed through a double arched door separated by a central pillar. The main room, each delimited by nine short columns, consists of three naves. The higher central nave was covered with a barrel vault. The apse at the eastern end of the central nave has a semi-dome. The right nave including the row of columns was completely destroyed, the barrel vault in the left nave is still standing. After its destruction during Arab raids, the building was repaired. Some retaining walls and frescoes were added, which can hardly be seen today.
