Pictured is the via ferrata Boppard. I can say in advance that the ascent via the via ferrata or the hiking trail is very worthwhile. The view up and on the way there is fantastic.

Starting point is the parking lot next to the gas station. The coffee there and a nice conversation and the information that you can rent a kletterset with collision, I can only recommend.

Hiking trail and via ferrata route intersect several times. So that also not afraid of heights do not have to shy away from the way to the summit. It is still strenuous 😉

I tried to photographically capture all sections of the via ferrata. So you can possibly better assess whether even children the route is zuzumuten.

Very positive we found that the way is very tidy. No garbage or anything was lying around👍

Upstairs is a bike park, chairlift and two restaurants offering fantastic views over coffee and cake.

A beautiful via ferrata of category B, which is mainly accessed by ladders and metal steps.
It is easy to climb in good weather.

Unfortunately, the safety ropes are not continuous (they are completely missing on most ladders or end halfway up), which in my opinion does not necessarily make the climb suitable for children.
This climb is also difficult for beginners who do not have much experience with securing and handling equipment; you constantly have to completely undress and then stow your via ferrata set on your harness in the middle of the ladder (unsecured!) so that it does not dangle in the way and you get caught on it.

This means that what is actually a beautiful and simple via ferrata can quickly become a risk of injury for newbies on the climb or if you are careless, especially when it is wet.
