    The Dreisesselberg is a 1,333 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Forest. At the highest point of the mountain, called Hochstein, there is a striking granite rock with a summit cross. The area, which was once heavily wooded, was cleared over a large area due to bark beetle infestation. About 450 meters as the crow flies south of the summit is the Dreisesselfels, three bizarre granite rocks consisting of cushion-like boulders. Below is the three-seater house.

                            Since 2023, the Dreisesselhaus has had a young new tenant. He is open-minded and very committed. He is also helpful in planning tours (MTBike) with a lot of local knowledge. The rooms and sanitary area were renovated in 2023, the kitchen has been given a new lease of life, the food is delicious, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Pleasantly clean for a mountain hut/shelter. It is worth stopping off here and/or staying overnight.
