    In 1805 a paper mill was built on the Sebaldushof estate on the outskirts of Treuenbrietzen by the miller Johann Ludwig Sebald. In addition, he set up a park and garden, on the edge of which a villa was built in 1834, which is still there today. After paper production was moved to a newly built mill on the outskirts of the city, the pulp mill, which processed rags for paper production, remained in the Sebaldushof. Around 1900, the "Park-Restaurant an den Heerwegen" was set up in the villa, a popular destination for the Treuenbrietzen residents. The park was a well-known landmark of the city because of its beauty. After the First World War, the economic problems of the paper factory, which was about 2 km away, worsened, which of course also affected the Sebaldushof. After several changes of ownership, the armaments company Kopp & Co m.b.H. finally took over in 1927. Berlin the property. First, the company apartments were cleared.

    For camouflage, the factory was referred to as "Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbrietzen GmbH". The covert manufacture of ammunition began as early as 1924 in rented rooms from Gehre Dampfmesser GmbH at Leipziger Strasse 109a. Machines from the Spandau army workshops, which had been withdrawn from the control commission of the victorious powers after the First World War, were used in production. Officially, “Swedish hunting ammunition” was manufactured. The excitement was great when an Allied control commission was announced in 1925, all machines that could be noticed were taken to the basement and walled in. The test shooting took place at the old camp shooting range.
