It was founded in the Skaryszewski urban pasture in the years 1906–1922 by Franciszek Szanior, and the work on creating the park was supervised by Edward Ciszkiewicz. Nowadays, it is described as an example of a city park, which is a haven of biodiversity in the city.

In 2009, it received the title of the Most Beautiful Park in Poland and third place in the Most Beautiful Park in Europe competition.

Unfortunately, for me personally this whole renovation is a failure... There were beautiful flower beds, now there is gravel (I'm sure many will be happy ;-) ). It was only necessary to replace the asphalt with a new one and not make an unnecessary revolution again for millions. The argument that "it was like that before the war" has zero value for me. Mothers with strollers and small children will certainly be happy that before the war there was no easily accessible asphalt and gravel was poured... Let's also replace city streetlights with gas ones, because it was like that in the past... 🤣. A teddy bear to the best of our abilities. The total cost of renovation (gravel pit and lamps) is over PLN 7 million...
