    There is a 14-kilometer-long circular path around the Dieksee, which is ideal for excursions on foot or by bike. The well-signposted route takes vacationers along paved paths to the most beautiful viewpoints on the Dieksee shore. On the Malenter shore there are also some starting points for Nordic walking routes through the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. Various routes take vacationers on sporty routes through the landscape of the Holstein Lake District.

      On the Dieksee promenade you can walk from the Malente wildlife park to the Diekseeholm forest.

      The Dieksee promenade runs along the western shore of the 368-hectare Dieksee. Here you will find many of Malente's hotels, guest houses and health clinics.
      The promenade, which was redesigned in 2007, consists partly of paved stone slabs and partly of solid sand. During the construction work, a floating pontoon for events was installed in the area of the 5-Lakes Cruise & Kellersee Cruise jetty. The promenade was also extended to include an additional wooden walkway. Terrace-like platforms have been integrated along the embankment, inviting you to linger with a particularly beautiful view of the Dieksee.

      Since 2016, you can attach a love lock to the promenade at the heart for lovers, not far from the Boots-Haus restaurant on the Dieksee.
      Also located on the promenade is the Neergard sculpture called “Kindertor”.
