Letters rock

The official name of this mighty rock face over the course of the Prims is "Weiserley" (white stone). A legend that goes back to the time of the Thirty Years' War is entwined around the rock made of melaphyr. After one of the many battles that were also fought here, a German rider was on a rally to Tholey when he was caught by Swedish soldiers. His escape came to an abrupt end at the edge of the cliff facing the Prims. With the enemies and the sure death in the neck, the rider gave his horse the spurs and threw himself over the rock into the prims. As if by a miracle, the rider was unharmed, but his horse died. To commemorate his salvation, he carved his story into the rock. Many years later, the characters are said to have been rediscovered during the construction of the railway, giving the rock its current name. Source text: information board
