Visible from afar, a lookout tower rises out of the landscape on the Lattberg near the small town of Entrup, which is crowned with a strange installation. The line operated until the middle of the 19th century consisted of 62 stations, the Lattbergturm was station number 31. Today the observation tower offers a box seat for the concert of the tree frogs, which echoes from the clay pits in Nieheim in mild April and May nights, from its roofed panorama floor, which is 24 meters high. It also offers a wide all-round view of the Emmer and Beber meadows up to the Hermannsdenkmal in the Teutoburg Forest.
The tower is part of the "Exquisite Nature" project in the cultural region of Höxter and a stop on the cycle route "In the kingdom of the green king".
