    The marriage market is actually a folk festival that was brought to life in 1909 by the former male choir. For years, he had always invited to a concert on the Sunday after Pentecost, which was very popular. Soon after the concert there was an invitation to dance. Innkeeper Reinhold Kurz recognized the moment and announced in 1921 that "everyone should go to the marriage market in Reitwein". The event enjoyed great popularity. In the 1930s there were even special trains from Frankfurt and Küstrin to Reitwein, and in 1938 an animal show with lions, tigers, elephants and monkeys brought a touch of the exotic to the Oderbruch. Even after the Second World War, the people of Reitwein celebrated their marriage market. In the 1960s, however, the district council took issue with the name of the popular folk festival. It did not fit the values of a socialist family policy. That's how the restaurant under the direction of the HO (State Trade Organization of the GDR) was called "Zur Friedens Grenz". The inn has been running under the old name since 1997 and is now an "event inn" and a branch of the Lebus registry office. Unfortunately, the beautiful wooden veranda on the east gable no longer exists, there is now a terrace.
