Further to the right you can see the hospital, the rehabilitation clinic, the Vitalia-Seehotel and the lake with the gentle, hilly landscape around Bad Segeberg. The mountain was originally 110 m high. The Kalkberg is the only elevation of massive rock in Schleswig-Holstein. The layers of salt beneath the mountain pushed up the rock that was formed in ancient times. The core of the mountain is made of anhydrite, the outer shell is plaster.
