Teufelsmühle probably already existed during the Thirty Years' War and was first mentioned in documents in 1507, when the then miller made an application to deepen the mill ditch at the Saxon court. Amber was found in these works, up to Taubenei large nuggets, which had to be delivered to the farm and probably ended partly in the green vault. According to a tradition, however, the Smedeberg ambers were destroyed in a fire in later years.

The relation to hell and devil was marked by the forest workers, who had very heavy working conditions in the adjacent forest with slopes. In the mill itself, much of it was ground for fiscal reasons during the night - which better protects against curious neighbors than the legend of the devil, who does his mischief at night.

Today you will find a place with an infinitely long tradition, pleasant scare during a visit to the cellar - here was a miller, according to legend, really brought by the devil
