The stair host in Palfau

We have been entertaining guests in our house for over 50 years.
The snack bar has become a guesthouse with a wellness area and inn.
Many of our guests like to come back to us and enjoy the family atmosphere.

A good day starts with a good breakfast

After a good night's sleep, a varied breakfast buffet awaits you with delicacies from the Gesäuse and the Mostviertel such as goat's cheese, sheep's cheese, apple juice and herbal teas. Homemade jams, home-baked bread and cakes are of course also available

After a restful night, you can recharge your batteries for a day in nature!

For early risers: You can have breakfast at Gasthof Stiegenwirt from 5:30 a.m.

Eating and drinking keeps body and soul together

Our inn is known for the various Pfand'l dishes. We prefer to cook with ingredients from local producers and with what grows in the forest and on the meadow. That's why, in addition to Flösser Pfand'l and Eisenwurzen Pfand'l, we also have green forest and meadow dumplings and forest perennial cheese patties with cheese from Grabenbauer in Mooslandl.

Wellness in the Gesäuse

After so much hiking, biking, paddling, climbing, skiing, horseback riding, ... people need rest and relaxation. Do something good for your body and sweat it out in our wellness area in the steam bath, in the classic Finnish sauna or in the infrared cabin. The spacious, sun-drenched relaxation room with drinking fountain and heated bench awaits you to relax.
