Beautiful, excellently maintained baroque gate from the 18th century. As one of the last, clearly visible remains of the former Prussian fortress, it is worth an intensive look. King's Gate (Brama Królewska) on the northern boundary of the old town, as part of the fortress of Stettin between 1725 and 1727 in the Baroque style according to Prussian plans. built by the master builder Gerhard Cornelius von Walrave. The decorations of the gate are: royal symbols of King Frederick William I, warrior mythological figures and elements of arms, armours, shields and banners - they refer to the tradition of Roman triumphal processions. On the eastern wall there is a commemorative plaque dedicated to the Polish general Dezyder Chłapowski, who was imprisoned in the Szczecin fortress. The Wedel chocolate bar is located in the Royal Gate.
