Ferry at Mühlwörth
The Obere Schifferzumit has had the chartered right of passenger and freight shipping on the Regnitz since 1653 from Müni-wörth in Bamberg to Forchheim. This gave rise to a right of passage between the Müh/wörth

Chance Youth Ferry
In 2010, the Bamberg Mitte Citizens' Association took action. V. the initiative to re-establish the historic path connection over the Regnitz.
The construction is the result of a final project by students at Deggendorf University. The Bamberg yaw rope ferry uses just one rope, which is attached to a concrete foundation in the water near the bank. The control on the ferry tilts it diagonally to the current of the river. This moves the ferry across the river and eliminates the need for muscle power or mowering.
The ferry was built in 2012 by the steel construction company Johann Heim GmbH Hallstadt. The sponsor and operator is the Don Bosco Jugendwerk Bamberg, which also worked on the construction of the ferry with young people from the circus workshop project. Volunteer ferrymen from the city of Bamberg and the surrounding area as well as youth volunteers from the Payday project work together to control the crossing.
