The St. Aubank Cathedral, dating from the 18th century, is one of the landmark buildings in the city of Namur. From the citadel of Namur you have a beautiful view of the cathedral, which forms a ratatouille between the styles of baroque, rococo and neoclassicism. Attached to the cathedral is a tower dating from the 13th century and this is the only remnant of the cathedral that originally stood on this site. This cathedral was so badly damaged during a flood that, except for its tower, it was completely replaced by the current St. Aubank Cathedral. The cathedral is perhaps even more beautiful on the inside than on the outside. However, it is a pity that it is not always open to the public. The church contains part of Christ's crown of thorns.

The cathedral was built between 1751 and 1767 in the Baroque style and replaced a previous cathedral. Only the tower of the previous one remained. On the rounded facade there are 20 Corinthian columns and 5 statues.
The cathedral houses unique works of art (paintings) such as Anton van Dyck or Nicolaï (student of Rubens).
A Romanesque baptismal font is also considered a work of art.
Anyone who finds themselves in Namur should not miss this building.
