Around the middle of the 18th century, the bridge was built for the first time as a single-wing wooden drawbridge and until 1979 its appearance had hardly changed. Since there has always been an important Havel crossing here and the skippers with their heavily loaded barges could not get under the bridge, a time-saving solution had to be found. Because the skippers simply picked up the bridge, which previously consisted only of boards, and then, perhaps to save time, did not put it back again and again. Until the beginning of the 19th century, the bridge was called the High Bridge and was renewed several times. On April 28, 1945, all three bridges in Zehdenick, including the Hast Bridge, were blown up by the German Wehrmacht. After the war the reconstruction took place.
