The very pretty Breton medieval town of Dinan is located on the banks of the La Rance river and is made up of an upper town and a lower town. The latter is also the port of the city. The two parts are connected by cobbled streets. Sea boats can come and take shelter in its port in the event of strong storms, because Dinan is located well inland.
