The oldest reference to this mill dates from 1438. The mill belonged until 1920 to the manor Habighorst, then to get into the possession of the former miller. The manor also included the Quarmühle, which lay above the Habighor mill on the road Eschede - Celle. The manor house with its mansion from the 18th Century forms today a picturesque backdrop north of the mill pond. The Habighorster mill was never a big operation, most recently it worked with turbine drive, a roller mill and a shotgun. But there were plans to modernize them after 1945. On the other side of the stream, the then miller had already built a building for this purpose. However, the general mill death caused him to fail: in 1953 he had to shut down the mill and in the 1970s, the new building burned down, so that of the plans of the last miller only the white silo building on the other side of the stream is left. In the single-storey, massive mill building (19th century), a part of the old mill technology has been preserved to this day. The turbine generates electricity and a waterwheel rotates on the wall of the turbine house for display purposes.
