The building is composed of a single nave, a shallow transept and a semicircular apse. It opened to the faithful in 1694. The chapel was first served by the Récollets monks of Marennes, then by a priest who became the priest after 1856. It was in 1957 that Father Paul Bourgeon had the bell tower built, installed electronic bells, systems of crystal crosses with spring wire which oscillate in the void, the sound is amplified by speakers and gives the change with real bells. In 1969 he witnessed his dream come true, the installation of two other bells named Madeleine and Jeanne-Andrée.
