The history of this chapel is poorly known. Legend links its construction to August 11, 1560, the date of the passage of St François de Salles in the parish of Fleyrier, which later became that of Taninges.

Other sources tell us that it was founded by Lords of Cran and Nicolas Nicodex, whose descendants inherited the right of patronage.

In October 1714, it was already built, since it is mentioned that at that date it was in ruins. This is why Claude Nicodex, descendant of Nicolas, cedes his right to the Count of Taninges: Joachim de la Grange, Senator of Savoy.

On the tablet of the Sardinian map of 1733, the name of the Chapel appears with its outbuildings. Then after many vicissitudes and having suffered the ravages of time, it found a new lease of life after its renovation by volunteers in 1985.

The Eucharist is celebrated there once a year, and belonging to the circuit of chapels, it comes back to life on the third Sunday in June.

Recently, the town has arranged the surroundings so that everyone can sit there and admire both the monument, but also the site which hosts it.
