In 1985, the city of Leverkusen took over the entire Reuschenberg wildlife park, but the association continues to support the facility with great commitment. In addition to some domestic animals, it is mostly endangered European wild animals that are presented and bred there. Around 270 birds and four-legged friends now live in the 60,000 square meter area, and more than 200,000 visitors per year are interested in the 80 different animal species: from otters, gray cranes and black storks to native birds of prey and reptiles to goats, sheep and moufflons.

A total of over 200 animals can be observed in the extensive facility: from wood ants to black storks, otters, birds of prey, ferrets and reptiles, goats, sheep, fallow deer and moufflons to porcupines, a lynx and a colony of bees.

The site also offers a large children's playground with various attractions. At a picnic area with benches and tables, you can recover from the day with a small snack. The whole thing is rounded off by the bistro built in 2011 with around 60 seats. A large outdoor terrace offers 50 additional seats with a view of the "wild" residents.
