The Wunstorf marina in the district of Idensen is suitable for pleasure boating. It began operations in 1981 after about two years of construction with a first basin and was officially opened in 1985 after the work on a second basin was complete. It has an 11.5 t crane and 118 berths; there are also 30 dry berths. Supply and disposal options, a seasonally managed Treasure Island restaurant and sanitary facilities are available.

The MLK route is well signposted to the Peine-Mehrum power plant and is divided into a west and east route. If you cycle along the "Im Busche" path a little west to the Osterfeuerweg, then the first signpost with the MLK canal route symbol appears at the intersection.
