    The post office at Am Alten Gymnasium 7 was built in 1800/1801. It is a neo-renaissance style building. House No. 9 next to it was laid out in 1930 as an extension. Both are under monument protection. A branch of the Deutsche Post is still located in the building today.

      Built between 1800 and 1801 in the Neo-Renaissance style, the building is one of the oldest surviving post office buildings in Brandenburg. Located on Karl-Kurzbach-Platz, right in the heart of the city, it served as a central hub for communication and community for many decades. Its solid construction, clearly structured facade, and symmetrical design reflect the typical characteristics of the architecture of that era – robust, representative, and yet understated.

      The post office was an integral part of the city's infrastructure as Neuruppin rebuilt itself after the devastating city fire of 1787. It served not only as a place for mail and parcel delivery but also as a symbol of progress and interconnectedness in a time when the postal service was a vital link between cities and regions.

      Its location next to the Old Gymnasium (high school) underscores its proximity to education and administration – a classic ensemble within the cityscape.
