A recognizable symbol of Nin is the Church of Saint Nicholas, located in the 'Prahulje' field. This church bears witness to rulers from Croatian dynasties and therefore speaks not only of Nins but also of Croatian history. According to oral tradition, seven kings were crowned in Nin. Each ruler came with his entourage to Nin and then to the church of Saint Nicholas. At this point he showed himself to the people with symbolic ritual. On this hill he cut the four sides of the world through the air with his sword.

The small church was built on a hill and it is precisely on this spot that you can experience unforgettable sunsets. There are still unexplored and prehistoric graves in the hill. The church is 5.90m long and 5.70m wide, 6m high (inner diameter) and has a wall width of 50cm. Because of the existing Turkish threat, an eight-tower wall crown was built in the 16th - 17th centuries to serve as an observation point. The Church of Saint Nicholas is the only example of early Romanesque architecture in Dalmatia that has been preserved in this form. Its origin is linked to the end of the 11th and the beginning of the 12th century.
