For the first time in 1791 in Brunshaupten a mill was mentioned in the Mecklenburg state calendar. It was called in 1841 in another document as Erbwindmühle. Around 1900, the building was equipped with a wind rose, the millstone was removed. The base store Dutch mill in 1910 belonged to the Büdnerei No. 13 and was sold in the same year for 40,000 marks to the miller Haacker. During a renovation in 1913, the sail wings were removed and replaced by Venetian blind. The constant reefing and tensioning was eliminated, a significant relief for the miller. These wings were replaced in 1936 by those with a so-called Ventikante; the mill got a tailgate. The hatchback was opened and closed by rod-mounted flyweights. The operation was from the outside, with a chain. During the refurbishment in 1953, a double-rolling mill was installed and the installation of a centrifugal sighting machine increased the capacity of the plant to one tonne of fine flour per day. After purchasing a peeling machine, barley flakes, barley barley and groats were produced. In the 1950s was still produced extensively. After the founding of an LPG no grain was ground anymore. In 1961, the Haacker family fled to Hamburg.

After the cessation of operation in 1961, the mill was empty. It was extensively restored from 1987 to 1991 and converted into a restaurant. The restaurant was closed in 2009. After a conversion from 2010 to 2011, the rooms are used as a holiday apartment.
