    At the entrance to Galgenberg, there are three memorial stones in a small clearing under a large wooden cross. The large one in the middle bears the following inscription: "In memory of the lost homeland, its dead, the victims of the expulsion in 1945 and the fallen in both world wars 1914-1918 1939-1945".

      As a result of the Wiebke storm in 1991, the remains of the foundations of the former gallows in the gallows forest of the same name were once again visible and archaeologically examined. The mortal remains of eight executed were also found. In 2001 the cath. Parish of St. Vitus erected a memorial in the immediate vicinity of the former place of execution to commemorate those executed in the witch trials (see illustration). The well-known artist pastor Sieger Köder was responsible for the design. The memorial can be reached in a 10-minute walk from the car park at the Rundsporthalle/Berliner Straße.
