The Strabeek meanders happily in the Ravensbos, at the foot of the many slopes in this forest with quite a few differences in height.

The stream, a tributary of the nearby Geul, rises in Haasdal (there is a Klein Haasdal and a Groot Haasdal that are both part of Schimmert as hamlets). In the hamlet of Strabeek, the stream with the same name flows into the Geul.
