The fortress made of marble and sandstone sits proudly on the mountain ridge and at first glance presents itself as a well-fortified fortress that could survive many a war. But the interior of Amber Fort speaks a different language: the interior of the fort is exceptionally magnificent and looks more like a palace than a fort.

The Amber Fort is located about ten kilometers from Jaipur, which is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan. The name of this monumental building can be translated as Amber or Yellow Fortress. However, the original name is Amer, and this word has nothing to do with color. Moreover, the building is not yellow, as it is constructed from red and white sandstone. Construction began in 1592 during the reign of Raja Man Singh I.
