Estrada da Garganta de Sorne (Gorges du Pichoux)

The trip through the Sorne Gorge is worth it both up and down. The change in scenery is dramatic and unexpected. At the upper end of the Sorne Gorge lies the lovely pastureland around Bellelay, a well-known centre for horse breeding.
At the lower end lies Undervelier, in the fairly densely populated Soulce Valley. In between is this gorge, where the Sorne has eaten its way into the limestone in a spectacular way, creating a fantastic landscape.
The road layout in this narrow gorge contributes to this fascinating section, the Sorne bubbles, gurgles and rushes next to the road.
Definitely plan for this if you are travelling in the region!

Very beautiful gorge, which ideally you drive uphill from Undervelier to Le Pihoux. So you can enjoy all the wonderful views and admire the imposing Jura rock formations.
