      The nature reserve (NSG) "Wambachtal and Oembergmoor" is located in the south-west of the Mülheim urban area and belongs to the contiguous forest area "Broich-Speldorfer Wald". It includes the course of the Wambaches with tributary streams and large forest areas; in the middle part it narrows to the creek with adjacent five meter wide buffer strip (grassland). A short section of the Wambaches runs west of the route of the A3 to the mouth in the duck fishing (former gravel pit).
