The Hüxtertor Bridge has earned a national record.

It was named the worst bridge in Germany in a test by the German Automobile Club (ADAC).

Rust has so damaged the structure over the years that it is in need of renovation. It is old, after all, it was built as a steel arch bridge on the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. That was in 1898. The Hüxtertor Bridge connects Hüxterdamm on the eastern part of the Old Town Island with Hüxtertorallee and Falkenstraße.
