The village of Consrade was first mentioned in 1260 as the German founding of the Holstein Reinfeld monastery. It remained in the possession of the clergy until the Reformation, then the Danish kings were the legal successors of the monastery before the Mecklenburg dukes took possession of Consrade in 1606. The exact construction date of the chapel or church is not known.
The church building was first mentioned in a church visitation protocol in 1534 as a daughter church of the Plater church. The half-timbered building with the three-sided end in the east suggests that it was built in the 16th century, the design and technical details also suggest that it was built in the 17th century.
The church was completely renovated in 1831 and 1968 and the interior was partially redesigned. It is closed on three sides in the east, inside an undivided, flat-roofed room without a tower.

In a church visitation protocol from 1540, a daughter church of Plate in Consrade is mentioned for the first time. From the 13th to the mid-16th century, the village of Consrade belonged to the Cistercian monastery of Reinfeld in Holstein.
