      "... The Stux or Stuxberg is a rocky hill above Unkel-Heister, from which the view opens up over the Rhine Valley near Unkel. The sediment deposits of a former ocean consist of calcareous slate in mostly horizontal, but sometimes also vertical layers and are about 325 million years old. They were created when the continents of Laurussia and Gondwana collided.
      Today the lower area of the Stux is used for viticulture, partly in terraced cultivation. The Stux belongs to the Middle Rhine wine-growing region.
