The further cycle path over the Ruhr to the Ruhruni shows how it can be done, this is the express cycle path as it should be, efficient, separate lanes, clear rules. I don't understand that, there's great study material from the Netherlands, they've been doing it and perfecting it since the 70s, so you don't even have to research anything new.
