The Fritz Walter Stadium, formerly known as the Betzenberg Stadium and also called Betzenberg or Betze, is a football stadium in the Rhineland-Palatinate city of Kaiserslautern. It is the home ground of 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

It hosted five matches during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The stadium received its current name on November 2, 1985, to mark the 65th birthday of Fritz Walter, captain of the FCK championship-winning teams of 1951 and 1953 and the first honorary captain of the German national football team. Previously, it was simply called the Betzenberg Stadium or Stadium on the Betzenberg. Therefore, the stadium is colloquially referred to as the Betze. After the Second World War, the stadium was briefly named Stade Monsabert, after the commander of the French occupation forces, General Joseph de Goislard de Monsabert.

The owner of the stadium, formerly owned by the club, has been Fritz-Walter-Stadion Kaiserslautern GmbH since 2003, a company wholly owned by the city.

On the site of today's Fritz-Walter-Stadion, the Betzenberg sports field, named after the location of the same name, was opened in 1920. It was a sand pitch with spectator stands and a small wooden grandstand on its south side. In 1926, the sand pitch was replaced with a grass pitch.

From at least 1931 onward, the Betzenberg had labor market and economic significance, as it became part of the job creation measures of the "Voluntary Labor Service" in response to mass unemployment. These measures were part of an emergency decree from 1931 that allowed members of gymnastics and sports clubs to work for the club for low wages. Among other things, the stadium oval was renovated and expanded, as were the grandstand, the spectator terrace, the hockey field, and the ticket office. Up to 140 unemployed residents of Kaiserslautern, primarily members of 1. FC Kaiserslautern, were employed for this purpose. These measures were justified by the fact that the sports field would benefit youth training and military sports. Furthermore, the aim was to alleviate the labor shortage by integrating these individuals into the workforce. With the construction of two standing terraces and a grandstand in the north, the stadium's capacity was increased to 18,000 spectators.
