During the Kruisborre walk, also called the 'weg om' or 'Kappellekensweg', you pass this 'Source'.
The couch is an inviting place to recharge your batteries.
If you are here in the right season you can enjoy frog sounds coming up from the spring water well.
Frogs find the Kruisborrebron a cool place.

At this source (or borre) believers made a sign of the cross with the spring water. Some drank it and took it home as protection against disaster.
Farmers also often took it with them to protect their houses and stables against all kinds of dangers.
The fact that the Kruisborrekapel was built near the so-called Kruisbron can be related to the source worship among the Germans and Celts. They attributed a certain healing power to sources, which later took on a Christian hue with the Christianization of this region.

An alder grows near the source. Whether there is a connection with the legend is not clear. The roots of the alder threatened to ruin the source. Thanks to a fine example of heritage care in 2017, they succeeded in preserving both the source and the tree.
