The Evangelical Lutheran Old Island Church was built in 1696, making it the oldest church in the East Frisian Islands. It stands between the streets Noorderloog and Süderloog, the two oldest streets of Spiekeroog. The pulpit in the style of the Renaissance, apostles and a Pietà, which is said to come from a stranded in 1588 before Spiekeroog ship of the Spanish Armada, are sacral objects in this church.
