The redoubts near Fischbach near Kaiserslautern were built by the Revolutionary Wars (also called the Coalition Wars, 1792-1815). Prussia. They came over the Schorlenberg under the Prussian Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher (1742-1819) and drove the French back to Pirmasens via Fischbach, Hochspeyer and Trippstadt. Also known in this context are the battles for the Schänzel near Edenkoben, which the Schänzelturm on the Steigerkopf is reminiscent of."
