Although the forest between Camerig and Vaals is full of beautiful quiet paths, free cycling is not allowed here. This loop - part of the Epen MTB route - is one of the few trails that can be cycled legally.

The trails alternate between hardpack gravel, from forest floor to parched sand - or the worst mud you've seen in ages, depending on the weather. Fat tires are a plus here, although you don't really need a mountain bike for this MTB route ... a gravel bike is certainly sufficient.
