The hexagonal top part of a payment table (payment stone) made of granite stone and with a coat of arms from 1477 has been preserved. This was privately owned until 1920 and then became the property of the market town of Mühlbach. They handed the payment table over to the “Mühlbacher Klause” association (founded in 1997),[1] which set it up in the renovated Mühlbacher Klause in 2005.

In 1929 Mühlbach was expanded to include the previously independent communities of Meransen, Spinges and Vals. Rodeneck, which was also incorporated in the same year, was made an independent municipality again in 1956.
