    The dating back to the 11th century Protestant St. Lawrence Church in the Barbyer district Zuchau is the oldest building in the town.
    It was built as a fortified church built of rubble stones with a distinctive transverse rectangular tower ("Sachsenturm") and the rectangular nave. Both parts of the building were connected by a double arcade. When the cross-cultural cultivation was created on the south side, is not known. All parts of the building are covered with a pitched roof. 1739 baroque conversions were made on the nave, 2011 began extensive renovation work on the roof and the outer walls.     The interior of the nave is completed with a wooden barrel ceiling, which was formerly painted with a starry sky. From Romanesque times the baptismal font is preserved. The pulpit altar, the stalls with its crowning carvings and the painted galleries are from the era of Baroque transformation. The organ is currently not playable. The bells of the church are made up of three bells, the oldest dating back to 1350.
