An Eberhardt von Seueneken was already mentioned in 1211. The village itself was first mentioned in the Ratzeburg tithe register from 1230. At that time the first church was built, which was demolished in 1749 as dilapidated. The patron Johann Hartwig Ernst von Bernstorff, owner of Gut Wotersen, had a new church built in 1753, in which he was buried in 1772.

With the construction of the Stecknitz-Delvenau Canal, the “wet salt road” between Lüneburg and Lübeck, which was completed in 1398, Siebeneichen became the point of contact for the Stecknitz drivers. There is still a seating reserved for this boatmen's guild in the Siebeneichen church.

The origin of the place name is not clearly proven, it could have its origin from the oaks in the old village square in front of the church, because there used to be exactly seven oaks, but it is also possible that the name comes from seven farming positions.

Siebeneichen is located in the southeast of the Herzogtum Lauenburg district and is 468 hectares in size. The community belongs to the Büchen district and lies between two important transport routes:
To the east of the village runs the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, which opened in 1900, and to the west is the Lüneburg – Lübeck railway line and the state road 200, which connects Büchen with Breitenfelde. While the L 200 ran directly through the town until the 1960s, it is now outside and no longer touches the medieval village center.
The Angerdorf has always been characterized by its special traffic location between the old freight road from Lüneburg to Lübeck ("Alte Salzstraße") and the former "Stecknitz-Delvenau Canal" located in the Delvenau lowlands.
The small town is still dominated by the old parish church on the spacious green area around which the farms are located.
Around 1900, Siebeneichen had around 180 residents, including 4 full-hoofed animals, 2 half-hoofed animals, 7 kätners, various craft businesses such as shoemakers, blacksmiths, roofers, butchers, bakers, a trucking company and a grocery store.
Today the population of Siebeneichen has increased to around 250 inhabitants, which is due in particular to the gradual complete development of Büchener Weg. The place borders on the communities of Roseburg, Klein Pampau, Büchen and Fitzen.

The name Siebeneichen is of German origin and is mentioned earlier than most of the other place names in the office. As early as 1211, an Eberhardt von Seueneken was mentioned, whose name can probably be assigned to the place.
In the Ratzeburg tithe register from 1230, the term "Soveneken" is spoken of, and this confirmed first documented mention of the community is still considered its "official" year of birth to this day.

Another attraction is the handicraft market, which extends from the church down to the ferry terminal and takes place during the Cultural Summer on the canal. kultursommer-am-kanal.de
