The beautiful Laarbeekbos birch forest is the largest forest area in the north of Brussels. Both young and old can find something to their liking in this green spot. Children can test their agility on the climbing mast.

The Laarbeekbos is a forest in the municipality of Jette, in the north of the Brussels-Capital Region. It has an area of 34 hectares, making it the largest forest area in the north of the region. The forest is located on the border with the Flemish Region and connects to an open space area in the north, although the R0 forms a barrier here. In the south and southeast, the Laarbeekbos borders other green spaces: the Poelbos, the King Baudouin Park and the Jette-Ganshoren Marshes. In the east, the forest borders the Campus Jette with the University Hospital Brussels.
The appearance of the Laarbeekbos is somewhat reminiscent of the Sonian Forest, with its many old beech trees. The past of the Laarbeekbos, like that of the neighboring Dielegem and Poelbos, is linked to the history of the Premonstratensian abbey of Dielegem, which was founded in the eleventh century.
The Laarbeekbos has exceptional biodiversity and is part of the Natura 2000 special protection zone in the Brussels Capital Region.
