The first mention about the village comes from the year 1277. About the mid- 17th century the Wejher family builds its own mansion house, then it becomes the property of the king John 3rd Sobieski in the years 1685-1697.
In 1888 the members of the von Below family settle there; they initiated the creation of a park-landscape complex and built a mill. In 1906 the grandchildren Emma and Gustav- a Prussian diplomat Paul Heinrich Teodor von Below became the subsequent owners of the property, who reconstructed the old mansion house into a spacious residence in the years 1910-1920. Besides the palace remained a farmhouse complex, mill as well as the tomb of the owners located in the forest, where the Soviet Russians shot cruelly the last lady – owner of the property in 1945.
After the war there was a state farm, in recent years the historical owners have returned and started to restore the functioning of a hotel and restaurant known as the Palace Below.
